Snads Metal Works is a small owner-operated foundry that specializes in the creation of hand wrought utilitarian objects with an eye to the artistic side of design. The most commonly seen metal objects, such as gates, window grates, handrails, sills, steps, door hardware, mounting and hanging devices, etcetera, are all pretty basic in both design and function. The premise here is that a skewed view of a basic object can give a fresh take on an otherwise boring, functional piece of work. Your simple pot hanger in an oval shape suddenly becomes the center of the room décor when it’s a falling leaf instead. These new ideas can easily be shaped, formed and finished to fit any décor as well. Is it expensive, you might ask?  No! The prices that you see for objects stamped out of a press in Pakistan and sold in a big box store are not much less than the cost of a unique Snads creation! We think that pounding metal can be fun!

Since about 2500 B.C. folks have been forging and forming steels and non ferrous metals. Many of the designs that were developed at the time of Nebuchadnezzar are STILL being pushed out of a factory in China! It’s time that folks notice that there are plenty of craftsmen who are shaping, raising and forming lovely designs that are useful in daily activities.
